It hasn't been that long since I announced that I felt led by God to run for
State Representative. In that short time GOD has done more than many of us
would have imagined...
* I left my career to follow God's leading into this campaign and
so far HE has:
-- provided answers to
all of my wife's concerns within 3 short weeks
-- enabled me to bring a
Christlike approach to this campaign that focuses on seeking THE ANSWERS (God's Answers) rather than trying to destroy lives and reputations
-- brought Focus to the
campaign on the REAL ISSUES that everyday people are dealing with (JOBS, HEALTH CARE, EDUCATION,
PROTECTING CITIZENS & REFORMING GOVERNMENT)
-- helped bring the local
papers to a point where they are discussing the issues and are now emphasizing EDUCATION in every issue
-- caused me to be an
impetus in the beginning and continuing with Candidates Meeting to discuss the Issues
-- Brought together a Flag
Day/Town Hall Meeting that truly UNITES the Community and shows them what can be done when people stop
looking out for only themselves and start learning to work together
-- allowed me to bring
more attention and continue the fight
for creating 2,000 jobs in Lapeer at M-24/I-69 when everyone else was giving it up;
RESULT: commitment from State to provide up to $10,000 worth of help for every
manufacturing job created
-- develop energy policy and plan for Lapeer County and Michigan. Proposed
to Lapeer Commissioners and Governor's Office. Since that point-- Governor
signed legislation on July 7 to empower Economic Development to use greater
influence in bringing alternative energy production jobs to MI and DTE has
announced plans to spend billions in creating alternative energy. We are
in the front of this movement if we continue to move quickly!
-- shown the State of Michigan is helping: Troy, Detroit, Grand Rapids and
Lansing to develop retail properties; 2,000 jobs being created with investment
of over $400 million (compared to if they help Lapeer create 2,000 jobs with
less State investment, but resulting in over $1 Billion of development
projected)
-- influence other
candidates in the shaping of their platforms and ideas (More candidates are
talking about TAX CUTS)
-- used me to be a voice
in the local papers to bring out ideas and encourage further discussion
-- used Ideas that shared with Governor late last year (cutting business
tax, prison reform, and education) are now included in her latest offer to
Senate Republicans
-- brought the Republican
Party to an understanding that the more information and answers we provide, the more influential and better received we will be by the people (their most recent update to the web page now lists links to "opposition" sites; following the example I set with listing all of the other candidate names and
websites)
-- influenced media to
listen to the message we're putting out
-- continued to
open doors of opportunity and influence for the good of not only Lapeer County, but expanding into surrounding regions as well (Surrounding Counties, Canada, Great Britain, Japan, China,
Australia and Viet Nam have now been exposed to what God is doing as indicated by visits to this
website!)
God has brought us this far and is radically changing our community, and there's no reason to stop! We are praying for God to turn Michigan around and He is at work
doing just that.
